N Scale T-Section Bettendorf Freight Car Trucks 1 pair

with plastic Micro Trains wheelsets (color varies by availability)

Product Overview

These finely detailed T-section Bettendorf trucks are a first in N scale — never before available in this size. Based on the distinctive prototype used by several railroads in the early to mid-20th century, these trucks feature the characteristic T-shaped cross-section side frames that distinguished them from later AAR-standard Bettendorfs.

The prototype T-section design originated in the 1920s as a cast-steel improvement over arch-bar trucks, offering greater strength and reduced maintenance. They were widely used on freight cars through the 1930s and into the 1940s, particularly on cars with moderate load ratings. By the late 1940s, they began to be replaced by fully standardized AAR cast-sideframe types, but many remained in interchange and maintenance-of-way service well into the 1950s.

Features

First time available in N scale — a new level of historical accuracy for period modelers.

Fitted with Micro Trains 0.540" plastic wheels for improved rolling.

Dimensions follow Micro-Trains Line (MTL) standards, ensuring compatibility with most N-scale rolling stock.

Body-mount couplers required — these trucks do not include or accept integrated couplers.

Printed in high-detail UV-cured resin for crisp prototype fidelity.

Handling & Care

Resin-printed components require a bit more care than traditional injection-molded plastic parts:

Avoid exposing the trucks to direct sunlight or high heat for extended periods, as UV light can cause over-curing and brittleness.

If the parts feel slightly tacky upon arrival, gently wash them in 91% isopropyl alcohol and let them air-dry completely.

Handle with care — resin parts are more brittle than standard plastic trucks.
